About Us

We are so excited to have you join us at Flood Church!  We hope you feel loved and significant because that is the way God sees you. We believe that we were all born with love and purpose in mind. It is our desire for you to feel loved by God and others, and to see your God-given dreams become a reality.

Here at Flood we believe that church should be something that you look forward to each and every week. So we strive to make our services an experience that will make you feel welcomed and at home.

OUR PLAN  FOR EVERYONE

The Mission of Flood Church comes from Ephesians 1:16-18 NLT

16 I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, 17 asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. 18 I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.

19 I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him.

"FLOODED with SALVATION"

Verse: 18 - pray that your hearts will be flooded with light

Paul said to the church at Ephesis, that the eyes of your understanding would be FLOODED with light. It's our passion that people of all ages would meet Jesus. That the light bulb of His love would begin to shine in their lives. We believe that the Bible brings life change to the lives and souls of people.  Jesus said “if we remain in Him, and His words in us, that our life will produce much fruit.” We pray that your hearts will be flooded with light and forever changed.

"FLOODED with PURPOSE"

Verse: 18 - confident hope He has given to those he called

Paul then said the hope in which HE called you. We believe that each person has a PURPOSE in which we all are created to live. As animals find protection inside the herd from predators, we believe that people find life and protection inside God-centered relationships.  We believe that everyone needs healthy relationships, and community, to become all that Jesus has called us to be.

"FLOODED with ACCESS"

Verse 18 &19 - what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe. (NKJV)

Paul then began to let the church know what we have ACCESS to. We believe our lives are meant to be lived from this place of abundant life that is opened up to us through Jesus. A life that teaches us how to be overcomes in every area of our lives.

OUR BELIEFS

THE BIBLE

The Bible was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs about living. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without error.

2 Timothy 3:16, 1 Thessalonians 2:13, 2 Peter 1:21

THE TRINITY

We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy.

Philippians 2:6, John 14:28, John 16:28, John 1:14, John 1:1, John 1:18, John 15:26

OUR NEED FOR A SAVIOR

We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ as both God and man is the only One who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life and no one comes to the Father but by Him.

Romans 5:14, Romans 3:10, Romans 3:23, 1 John 3:8, Ephesians 2:8, John 14:6

SALVATION | ETERNAL LIFE

The blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the only way of salvation through the forgiveness of sin. Salvation occurs when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation is a gift from God, and it cannot be earned through our own efforts. We believe that in order to receive forgiveness we must repent of our sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and submit to His will for our lives. The New Birth is necessary to all men, and when experienced, produces eternal life.

2 Corinthians 7:10, 1 John 5:12, John 3:3-5, John 3:16

WATER BAPTISM

We practice baptism by immersion under water – the way Jesus was baptized. Once you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, we believe water baptism is an important step as a statement of faith. This is a declaration of our identity with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection.

Matthew 28:19, Romans 6:4, Colossians 2:12, Acts 8:36-39

HEALING

We believe that God is good, and He desires for our bodies to be healthy and whole so we may be able to serve Him with our whole being; living a fruitful abundant life in Him. We believe it is God’s will according to His Word for all men to be healed.

John 10:10, Psalm 103:3, Mark 16:18, James 5:14-25, 1 Peter 2:24, Matthew 8:17, Isaiah 53:4-5

LIVING IN POWER | THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe that God wants us to be victorious in life! As a believer we need God’s power within us to help us live everyday. When a heart is surrendered to Jesus through salvation, growth should take place in a believer’s life through obedience to the Word of God, daily yielding to the Spirit of God, and being conformed to the image of Christ. So, we seek to practice a daily dependence on God’s Spirit to enable us to do what is right and to obey God’s command to “be filled with the Spirit.” The Bible teaches that this experience is received by faith and is often evidenced by the accompanying supernatural gifts of the Spirit, including speaking in tongues.

Matt. 3:11 | John 14:16,17 |  Acts 1:8, 2:4,38, 19:1-7 |  Eph 5:18

THE CHURCH

The Church is a local community of believers united through faith in Christ.  We are committed to the teaching of Jesus Christ, to obeying all of His commands, and to bringing the Gospel to this world.  The Church works together in love and unity, to bring glory to Christ.

Hebrews 10:25 | Matt 16:18-19; 18:15-20 | Acts 2:41-47; 5:11-14; 13:1-3; 14:23; 16:5; 20:28 | 1 Cor 7:17; 9:13-14; 12 | Eph 1:22-23; 2:19-22; 3:10-12; 5:22-32 | Col 1:18; 3:15 | 1 Tim 4:14 | 1 Peter 5:1-4 | Rev 21:2-3

PRAYER

Prayer is our ability to communicate with God our Father at any time.  Through Jesus’ salvation, we no longer need an intercessor to go between God and us; we can address Him directly.
